11 Plus Apps LTD ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of children and their families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile applications: 11+ Vocab Master and 11+ Verbal Reasoning Master (collectively, the "App").

Our App is designed for children aged 7 and above preparing for the 11+ examination. We take data protection seriously and comply with the UK Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, and COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) requirements.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We collect minimal information that you voluntarily provide when using the App:

  • Profile Nickname: The nickname you choose for your in-app profile is stored in Firebase Firestore (Google's cloud database) to enable consistent identity across sessions.
  • Rewards Data: Points and diamonds earned through the in-app rewards system are stored in Firebase Firestore to track your achievements. (11+ Vocab Master)
  • Subscription Information: Handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store (we do not store payment details)

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

We collect limited anonymous usage data automatically via Firebase Analytics (see Section 4.3). The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never shared:

  • Learning progress and completed lessons
  • Practice quiz scores and results
  • Game achievements and high scores
  • Mock test results and performance history
  • App settings and preferences (voice-over settings, time limits, etc.)
  • Words marked as "difficult" for additional practice

2. How We Use Your Information

All user data collected by the App is stored locally on your device and is used solely to:

  • Track your learning progress and performance
  • Provide personalized learning experiences
  • Save your preferences and settings
  • Enable multiple user profiles on a single device
  • Display your achievements and progress statistics

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

The majority of user data — including learning progress, quiz scores, game results, mock test history, and app settings — is stored locally on your device using secure device storage (AsyncStorage).

3.2 Firebase Cloud Storage (Firestore)

The following data is stored in Firebase Firestore (Google's cloud database) to support persistent app features:

  • Profile Nickname: The display name you choose for your in-app profile
  • Reward Points: Points earned through completing learning and practice activities (11+ Vocab Master)
  • Diamonds: In-app currency earned through the rewards system (11+ Vocab Master)

This data is stored pseudonymously under an anonymous device identifier generated by the App and stored on your device — it is not linked to your real name, email address, or any other directly personally identifiable information. Firebase Firestore is operated by Google LLC and data may be stored on servers in the United States and other regions.

3.3 Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect data stored on your device. Your device's operating system security features protect this data from unauthorized access.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 App Store Providers

Our App is distributed through:

  • Apple App Store: Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
  • Google Play Store: Subject to Google's Privacy Policy

These platforms handle app downloads, updates, and subscription payments according to their own privacy policies.

4.2 In-App Purchases

All subscription transactions are processed by Apple or Google. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Please refer to their respective privacy policies:

4.3 Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to understand how users interact with our App and improve our services.

Information We Collect Through Analytics:

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, device model
  • App Usage Data: Features used, screens viewed, time spent in app, button interactions, navigation patterns
  • Learning Activity: Practice sessions completed, test scores, game results, selected categories and topics (no personal answers or learning content is collected)
  • Subscription Activity: Subscription screens viewed, plan selections, subscription status (free, trial, or premium), subscription-related interactions
  • Technical Data: App crashes, performance metrics, error logs, load times, app responsiveness

How We Use Analytics Data:

  • Improve app features and user experience
  • Understand which features are most valuable to users
  • Identify and fix bugs and technical issues
  • Analyze subscription conversion to improve our service
  • Optimize app performance and reliability

Important Privacy Safeguards:

  • Anonymous Data: All analytics data is anonymized and not linked to any personal identity or specific child
  • No Advertising: Analytics data is NOT used for advertising, marketing, or targeting purposes
  • No Data Selling: We do not sell analytics data to third parties
  • Secure Processing: Analytics data is processed by Google Firebase and stored on Google's secure servers, which may be located in the United States and other countries where Google operates data centers
  • No Cross-App Tracking: We do not track users across other websites or applications

4.4 Firebase Firestore (Cloud Database)

We use Firebase Firestore (provided by Google LLC) as a cloud database to persistently store certain app data:

  • Profile Nickname: The in-app display name chosen by the user
  • Reward Points: Points accumulated through learning activities (11+ Vocab Master)
  • Diamonds: In-app currency earned through the rewards system (11+ Vocab Master)

This data is stored pseudonymously. No real names, email addresses, or contact details are stored in Firebase. The data is associated only with an anonymous device identifier generated by the App and stored locally on your device. Please note: your chosen nickname and reward points are displayed publicly on the in-app leaderboard, visible to other users of the App.

Users can request deletion of their Firebase data at any time by contacting us at info@11plusapps.com.

4.5 RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

We use RevenueCat (provided by RevenueCat, Inc.) to manage in-app subscription purchases and validate entitlements on both iOS and Android. RevenueCat receives limited purchase data from Apple and Google to verify subscription status within the App.

Information Processed by RevenueCat:

  • Purchase History: Subscription transactions from Apple App Store or Google Play (processed by Apple/Google, passed to RevenueCat for validation)
  • Device Identifiers: Anonymous device-level identifiers used to associate subscriptions with the App
  • Subscription Status: Whether a subscription is active, in trial, or expired

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or payment card details. No data from RevenueCat is used for advertising or marketing.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App is designed for children aged 7 and above. We comply with all applicable children's privacy laws, including COPPA in the United States and UK GDPR requirements for children's data.

While we collect anonymous analytics data (Section 4.3) and store limited profile data in Firebase Firestore (Section 4.4), none of this data includes real names, email addresses, or other directly personally identifiable information. Profile nicknames and rewards data are stored pseudonymously under an anonymous Firebase identifier, not linked to any individual child's identity.

We do not:

  • Collect personally identifiable information from children
  • Require registration or account creation
  • Include social media features or sharing capabilities
  • Display third-party advertisements
  • Track or profile children across websites or apps
  • Share any information with third parties for marketing purposes

Leaderboard Visibility: Nicknames and reward points submitted to the in-app leaderboard are publicly visible to all users of the App. Please ensure your child uses a nickname that does not reveal their real name or any personally identifiable information.

Parents and guardians can request removal of their child's leaderboard data at any time by contacting us at info@11plusapps.com. Local app data can be deleted by uninstalling the App.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: All data is stored locally on your device and accessible through the App
  • Deletion: You can delete all app data by uninstalling the App or using device settings
  • Control: You can reset progress, clear difficult words, or delete user profiles at any time within the App settings
  • Subscription Management: Manage subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings

7. Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete the App or clear the app's data through your device settings.

Profile nicknames, points, and diamonds stored in Firebase Firestore are retained for as long as you use the App. To request deletion of your cloud-stored data, please contact us at info@11plusapps.com and we will arrange removal within 30 days.

8. International Users

Our App is primarily designed for users in the United Kingdom but may be available in other countries. Profile data (nickname, points, and diamonds) stored in Firebase Firestore may be transferred to and processed on servers located in the United States and other countries where Google operates data centres. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. Google implements appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We will also notify users through the App if there are material changes. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

11. Parental Consent (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Because our App is designed for children aged 7 and above, and all users may be under 13, we require a parent or guardian to actively review and accept this Privacy Policy before the App is used. This is in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and UK GDPR Article 8.

On first launch, the App will display a parental consent screen summarising what data is collected and why. A parent or guardian must confirm their acceptance before any data is collected or the App becomes accessible to the child.

By actively accepting this Privacy Policy within the App, the parent or guardian:

  • Confirms they are the parent or legal guardian of the child using the App
  • Consents to the limited data collection described in this Policy on behalf of their child
  • Acknowledges that the child's chosen nickname will be visible on the public in-app leaderboard
  • Understands they can request data deletion at any time by contacting info@11plusapps.com

If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not allow your child to use the App.

12. GDPR Compliance (UK/EU Users)

For users in the UK and European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We use Firebase Firestore to store limited profile data (nickname, points, and diamonds) as described in Section 4.4. This data is processed by Google LLC on our behalf as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. Our legal bases for this processing are: (a) Legitimate Interests — to provide profile and rewards functionality within the App; and (b) Contract — to deliver the service features included with your subscription. For international transfers from the UK/EU, Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses. Legal Basis: Our processing of minimal local data is based on legitimate interest in providing educational services and fulfilling our contract to deliver app functionality.
